My story

If you've ever wanted a living, breathing weighted blanket with squishy cheeks, a giant heart, and just a little drool, Winston is your guy. This sweet meatball is as laid back as they come. Winston is happy to go with the flow, whether that's lounging on the couch, going for a stroll, or soaking up every ounce of attention you're willing to give. He's a people dog through and through and forms strong bonds with his humans in no time. One of Winston's favorite discoveries has been toys! Once he learned what they were, there was no turning back. He loves carrying them around proudly, playing fetch, and settling in with a good chew bone. Winston is currently enrolled in our Hamilton Hounds Prison Training Program in Florida, where he's learning good manners, basic obedience, and some pretty cool tricks. He's proving that you can teach an old meatball new tricks! Winston does have a condition called chronic dry eye, which means his eyes don't produce enough natural tears. To keep him comfortable, he receives eye drops three times a day: morning, after work, and before bed. It takes just a moment and has become part of his daily routine. Winston is looking for a family who appreciates the finer things in life: chunky dogs, endless snuggles, goofy smiles, and a little drool now and then. If you're searching for a loyal best friend with a heart every bit as big as his body, Winston is ready to plop right into your life. Medical Notes: requires daily eyedrops for chronic dry eye Good with adults: yes Good with kids: yes Good with other dogs: yes Good with cats: no House trained: yes Crate trained: yes Energy level: low-medium Can be handled/touched: yes Barker: no Flight risk: no; however, all dogs should be considered flight risks in new environments Food aggressive: no Walks on leash: yes Leash reactive to people or dogs: no Rides well in car: yes Destructive: no Needs a home with a yard: not needed, but would be nice Needs a home with another dog: no Can live in an apartment: yes, as long as he gets multiple walks per day and is kept socialized Please visit our website niagaradogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Winston (20260803-04), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
