Sasha is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please email our foster coordinator kris, at kris.gurka@foothillsanimal.org to set up an appointment. Eating: Sasha is eating Nutrisource puppy kibble with canned puppy food. Currently she is eating a little over a cup/day of dry food – breakfast and dinner. At those meals, she gets about 1/2 cup with a big dollup of canned food. At treat time, which is late morning and before bed she gets a handful of the kibble. So all in all it’s about a cup and a half of kibble. She is growing, so that will increase too! She is not a fast eater. It sometimes takes her 45 minutes to finish. Bathroom Habits: She has had no accidents in her X-pen or kennel. She had 1 accident within the first 24 hours of being in our home. She knew to go to the back door. I was too slow Leash Walking: We have practiced leash walking in the backyard and is doing well. Because she is not fully vaccinated, we have not taken her walking in the neighborhood. Toys: She plays well with her toys and can keep herself occupied. She is also learning how to play fetch and “drop it.” She learns quickly. She is also working on, “off”, “stay”, “no”, and “potty”. Anxiety: She has been left alone many times in her x-pen with the tv on. We have had a camera on her and she does very well. She sleeps or plays with her toys. She enjoys being in her x-pen. We allow her to roam the house supervised. Sleeping: She is sleeping in a kennel next to our bed with a big soft comforter, which she has not destroyed. She is sleeping thru the night, which we have never seen in a puppy this young. Such a bonus Health: She is teething. She likes to chew on her hard bones. Her puppy teeth are VERY sharp Sasha is a very sweet, loving and affectionate puppy. She loves playing with our 4 dogs of all sizes, including a 50 plus pound pittie mix. She has no fear. She enjoys exploring in the backyard and has been known to pick up a rock or two in her mouth. She does not bark much. She will whimper once in a while. She is learning the word “no”. She is happy and energetic. Everything about her is pure PUPPY. She will make a wonderful addition to your family.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Sasha, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
