My story

Tuna is a five-year-old, 45-pound German Shepherd mix. She's a gentle girl who is eager to please. She found herself at the Maricopa County shelter after an unfortunate misunderstanding. Tuna had lived with the same family for nearly three years when she was surrendered because a toddler in the home received a scratch on his face while the two were unsupervised. No one knows exactly what happened, and throughout her time with her family, at the county shelter, and now at Home Fur Good, Tuna has never shown signs of aggression. In fact, Tuna is everything you could hope for in a loyal companion. She is friendly, well-mannered, knows her basic commands, and enjoys spending time with people. She also gets along well with other dogs, making her a wonderful candidate for a home with a canine friend. Home Fur Good rescued Tuna on the very day she was scheduled to be euthanized, giving her the second chance she so deserves. Now all she needs is someone willing to look beyond one unfortunate incident and see the amazing dog she truly is. We believe Tuna's best days are still ahead of her, and she is ready to reward a loving family with years of companionship, devotion, and unconditional love. Tuna's adoption fee is $250 and includes her spay, vaccinations, microchip, and a complimentary wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital.
