My story

Calm, Friendly & PlayfulA wonderful, easy-going dog looking for the simple life! Mama is from Antigua, she and her 6 puppies were brought into the local rescue there after being found in an abandoned fruit and vegetable stand. All of her puppies are now adopted but Mama is still waiting for her new beginning. She recently arrived in Canada where she has a chance of finding a home that she would not have otherwise. BIO: - Potcake Mix, 6 yrs, Female (spayed)- Medium (55 lb), Medium-energy- Mama is house-trained, microchipped and has her core vaccinationsABOUT MAMA: - Mama appreciates lifes little joys - a toy, rolling around in the grass on her back or just lying outside soaking up the sunshine. She loves a bully stick or a stuffie and is good at entertaining herself.- Mama walks well on a loose leash, she is non-reactive to dogs she sees on walks and has not shown any prey drive or reactivity- Mama isn`t much of a cuddler and is happiest simply being near you; she forms deep bonds with the people she trusts and is a loyal companion- She has not shown any signs of resource guarding or separation anxiety- Mama is good in a car, shell jump right in and settle down for the rideMAMAS IDEAL HOME:- Mama enjoys her daily walks but is happiest with shorter outings rather than long hikes; a few extra treats have left her with some fluff around the middle, so longer or more frequent walks would be a good goal for her- Mama would do well in a quieter area, she is not well-suited for a busy downtown area, she can be sound sensitive to loud traffic or noises- She is a quiet dog and may do well in a shared wall situation- She would do best in a home with dog savvy older children - Mama gets along well with other dogs of a similar temperament, if her adopter already has a dog or cat, we will arrange for a meet and greetIf you`re looking for a gentle companion who enjoys leisurely walks, quiet days at home, and simply being by your side, Mama could be your perfect match. If you have any questions about Mama contact her Adoption Coordinator at: dog.adoption.coordinator.4@etobicokehumanesociety.com

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Mama, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
