My story

Roloberto is a joyful little terrier who doesn't simply walk-he prances! Everything is an adventure to him, and he approaches life with endless curiosity, excitement, and enthusiasm. It's clear he hasn't always lived as part of a family, so he's still learning household manners. Food is one of his greatest joys, and he'll enthusiastically try to join you if you're eating. Leave a snack unattended on the counter, and he'll happily consider it fair game! Thankfully, he's incredibly eager to please and responds very well to gentle, consistent guidance. One of Roloberto's most endearing qualities is his sensitive nature. If he's corrected, his feelings are genuinely hurt, and he'll often retreat under a table for a few minutes to pout before bouncing right back. He responds far better to kindness, patience, and positive reinforcement than harsh discipline. When the day is done, his playful side melts away. He happily curls up on his soft bed in his crate and settles in for a peaceful night's sleep. Because he's still young, Roloberto benefits from enrichment activities to keep his busy mind occupied. Food puzzles and treat toys are a favourite and do a wonderful job of keeping him entertained, especially when his foster family is busy. Roloberto would do wonderfully as an only dog, but if you already have a playful pup looking for a best friend, he'll think he's hit the jackpot. If you're searching for an 18-pound bundle of personality with an adorable overbite, a playful spirit, endless enthusiasm, and a heart full of love, Roloberto may just be the perfect addition to your family. Medical: He has completed treatment for intestinal worms and has no ongoing medical concerns Crate Size Recommended: Medium Good with Adults: Yes Good with Kids: Unknown Good with Other Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Unknown House Trained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes, Roloberto is crated for short periods during the day and may whine a little because he'd rather be with his people. At bedtime, he'll happily go into his crate when told it's time for bed and typically sleeps soundly through the night. On the rare occasion he needs to go outside, he'll let you know rather than having an accident. Energy Level: High, Roloberto still has lots of puppy energy and loves to stay busy Can Be Handled/Touched: Absolutely! He loves affection, pets, cuddles, and being close to his people. He's constantly on the go during the day, so lap time usually comes after he's exhausted himself from a full day of playing and exploring. Barker: Not excessively, but he has a surprisingly loud bark and will alert you if he hears unfamiliar noises or sees someone outside. Flight Risk: Yes, Roloberto should always be kept on a leash or in a securely fenced area, as he's quick and curious and could bolt if given the chance Food Aggression: No, he gets very excited at mealtime and races to his bowl, but has shown no signs of food aggression Walks on Leash: Working on it Rides Well in the Car: Unknown Destructive: Generally well behaved, but like many young dogs, he'll find his own entertainment if he's bored. His favourite "treasures" are puppy pads and paper products! He's also known for collecting shoes, clothing, and other household items and relocating them around the house. Don't worry-they usually aren't chewed, just mysteriously moved! He investigated a computer cord once but immediately stopped when redirected, showing he's eager to learn. Needs a Home with a Yard: No, while he'd certainly enjoy one, a yard isn't necessary as long as he receives plenty of daily exercise and opportunities to burn off energy, such as walks or playtime Needs Another Dog: Not required, but preferred. Roloberto would be happy as an only dog if he receives lots of attention, exercise, and enrichment. However, he absolutely loves playing with other dogs and would thrive with a playful canine companion who enjoys chasing, wrestling, and zooming around. Can Live in an Apartment: Not recommended due to his loud alert bark Please visit our website niagaradogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Roloberto (20260725-02), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
