My story

QUICK FACTS Name: Yeolmae Age: Around 1 year old Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Jindo mix Color: Brown Weight: 13kg / 28.6lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was rescued from a dog farm where my future was uncertain. Thankfully, kind rescuers saved me just in time, giving me a second chance at life. Now, I'm ready to leave my past behind and begin a brand-new chapter with a loving forever family.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY I was rescued from a dog farm and brought to a temporary care facility while I waited for a second chance. One day, a volunteer spotted me, and I knew this was my opportunity. I did everything I could to get their attention! I reached my paw out, looked at them with my best puppy eyes, and when they offered me their hand, I covered them with kisses. I was desperately asking to be chosen and taken somewhere safe. When I first arrived at my current shelter, I was understandably nervous. I was hesitant to walk, felt scared, and preferred to hide while I adjusted to my new surroundings. But after just a few days, my true personality began to shine. As I realized I was safe, I grew more confident, curious, and affectionate. Now, I'm always eager to see what everyone is doing and love following people wherever they go. One of my cutest habits is peeking out from my kennel to watch the world around me, hoping someone will come over to say hello. My sweet, curious nature has captured the hearts of the volunteers, and now I'm hoping it will capture yours too.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I'm a little shy when meeting new people, but it doesn't take me long to warm up once I realize I'm safe. Before long, I'll happily accept pets and affection, and one of my favorite ways to show that I trust you is by rolling over for belly rubs! I also don't mind being picked up and enjoy spending time close to the people I love. · With Dogs: I'm a friendly pup who loves greeting new friends and enjoys playing with other dogs! When I'm in a new environment, I like to take a moment to observe my surroundings before jumping in, but once I feel comfortable, my social and playful personality shines through. I also have a gentle, easygoing nature and prefer to keep the peace. If another dog is being pushy or trying to start trouble, I'd much rather walk away than get involved in any drama. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown. A cat test can be arranged upon request to ensure the best fit.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level. I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring, and having fun, but once I’ve had my activity and excitement, I’m more than happy to come inside and relax comfortably indoors.   TRAINING & HABITS I'm still learning my leash manners and making great progress every day! If something startles me, I may lie flat on the ground while I take a moment to feel safe again. With patience and encouragement, I'm becoming more confident with each walk. I have wonderful manners around food and don't guard my meals from either people or other dogs. I'm also a very quiet pup who rarely barks and know how to relax calmly in my kennel. For potty habits, I currently use both pee pads indoors and go potty outside as well.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: • A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment • A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout • A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together • A family that will love and cherish me forever • Understanding of my initial shyness and willing to be patient and understanding while I come out of my shell   SPECIAL NOTES I've come a long way since my rescue and continue to grow more confident every day. While I can be a little cautious in new situations, my curious, gentle personality shines through once I feel safe. I love being around people, watching everything that's going on, and quietly taking in the world around me. The volunteers adore my sweet nature and love seeing me peek out from my kennel, hoping for a visit or an adventure. With a patient family to guide me, I'm sure I'll continue to blossom into an incredibly loyal and loving companion. All I'm missing now is a forever home where I can feel safe, loved, and cherished for the rest of my life.   YEOLMAE'S YOUTUBE PLAYLIST   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2795650##
