QUICK FACTS Name: Haydn Age: 4 years old Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Jindo Samoyed mix Color: White Weight: 20kg / 44lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY Hi, I’m Haydn— a fluffy boy with a naturally smiling face and a heart that took time to bloom. I likely spent the early part of my life as a stray, never knowing what it meant to be loved. When I first entered the shelter, I was afraid of being touched or approached and would keep my distance. But everything changed once I met patient people who helped me realize that love doesn’t hurt. Over time, I opened my heart — and now I’m ready to give it to a forever family who sees how far I’ve come.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY I have shown everyone just how resilient I am and have made incredible progress since arriving at the care facility. When I first arrived, I was very scared and would run away or hide whenever staff and volunteers tried to approach or touch me. But as I settled in and realized I was finally safe, my sweet and affectionate personality began to shine through. People quickly discovered what a gentle boy I truly am and that I absolutely LOVE giving kisses to everyone I meet! These days, I happily approach strangers with curiosity and affection and much prefer the company of people over other dogs. I'm almost always smiling, and I'm pretty sure my happy grin will brighten your day too. I'm also a smart boy who learns quickly and have already picked up commands such as sit, paw, and give me, with many more tricks still to come!   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I'm curious about meeting new people and enjoy receiving pets and affection! That said, I appreciate a little time in the beginning to warm up and feel comfortable in new situations. Once I settle in, my affectionate side quickly comes out and I'll happily shower you with kisses and love. I can feel startled if someone tries to pick me up too quickly, so I prefer gentle handling and being picked up once we've had a chance to build trust and a bond together. For everyday situations such as getting into the car, I have no trouble being picked up when handled gently. · With Dogs: I'm polite when meeting unfamiliar dogs and will approach to say hello, although I'm usually not interested in playing together. I tend to feel most comfortable around dogs smaller than me and generally get along well with them. Because I may stand my ground if another dog provokes me, calm and supervised introductions are important when I'm meeting a new canine friend for the first time. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown. A cat test can be arranged upon request to ensure the best fit.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level. I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring, and having fun, but once I’ve had my activity and excitement, I’m more than happy to come inside and relax comfortably indoors.   TRAINING & HABITS I walk well on leash and follow my handler's lead nicely. I have wonderful manners around food and don't guard my meals from either people or other dogs. I'm a very quiet boy and rarely bark. I also know how to settle down and rest calmly in my kennel. For potty habits, I prefer going outdoors and enjoy having a regular routine for my bathroom breaks.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: • A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment • A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout • A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together • A family that will love and cherish me forever • Understanding of my initial shyness and giving me time to come out of my shell, I promise I’m worth the wait!   SPECIAL NOTES I'm a resilient boy who has come a long way since my rescue and continue to show everyone just how much love I have to give. I may need a little time to settle into new situations, but once I trust you, my affectionate and loyal personality shines through.
