Chandler and his brother Joey were found together on the side of a road in Fthiotida, Greece in early April 2026. When they were discovered, some of their siblings had already passed, their mother disappeared into the bushes, and a third puppy was never recovered. As soon as the two brothers arrived at the shelter they have been inseparable. Of the two, Chandler is the quieter one - the one who hangs back just a little, watches carefully, and then decides you're trustworthy and comes to greet you with a wagging tail and soft eyes. Born in early February 2026, Chandler is a young puppy with no known allergies, or medications needed. He eats puppy-appropriate dry kibble and has no dietary restrictions. Chandler's personality sits somewhere between playful and calm - he is a puppy with energy and joy, but also a gentleness that makes him feel different from the average chaos-machine. He loves being petted with slow, soft strokes and responds with pure contentment. He wags, he leans, he licks - he gives you the full range of puppy affection once he's comfortable, which doesn't take long. He uses his voice thoughtfully: soft barks to ask for things, gentle whines when his humans leave the kennel, nothing excessive or anxious. He is cautious in new situations and with new people at first, but he is becoming braver every day. He doesn't rush in - he assesses, he decides, and then he commits. Loud noises may startle him given his more sensitive nature, and a calmer home environment would suit him well. He hasn't been tested with children but would likely do best with older kids who are calm and gentle around dogs rather than loud or unpredictable. His entire world so far has been Joey, and the bond between them is everything. He would genuinely thrive with a companion to grow up with, though his caregivers can also imagine him becoming a devoted solo house dog and couch potato for the right person. He is not yet leash trained and comes with all the standard puppy behaviours - chewing, pulling at clothes, not yet understanding the concept of outdoor toileting - and his future home should be ready to invest in his training with patience and consistency. Chandler is a gentle soul who came from the worst possible start and has responded to kindness with trust, warmth, and soft little barks. He is looking for a home that will appreciate a puppy who doesn't demand the world but quietly, steadily gives you his whole heart.
