My story

It was love at first sight. The moment we saw Wednesday at County, we fell head-over-heels in love. Her resemblance to our beloved sanctuary dog, Squid, was uncanny! It was like looking at Squid's face on a big, beautiful female dog. Wednesday is a joyful, affectionate Shar Pei mix with a personality that's impossible not to love. She has a way of lighting up every room she walks into and never fails to make people smile. Because she's a young, energetic breed, we felt it was important to invest in her future by enrolling her in professional board and train to help set both her and her future family up for success. We truly believe an animal's mental well-being is just as important as their physical health, and it was incredible to watch Wednesday blossom into the confident, well-rounded dog she is today. Wednesday found an incredible home and has been deeply loved by her family. Unfortunately, life doesn't always go according to plan. Their daughter developed allergies, and after exhausting every option, they've made the heartbreaking decision to return Wednesday to our care. This decision has absolutely nothing to do with Wednesday, she is every bit as wonderful as she's always been and remains the calm, loving, happy companion they fell in love with. Now we're searching once again for the forever home she truly deserves. We know her happily-ever-after is still out there, and we're committed to helping her find it.
