My story

Looking for a dog who's equal parts adventure buddy, social butterfly, and professional happiness distributor? Allow us to introduce Vinny! This handsome 2-year-old Shepherd/Bully mix arrived at the shelter as an unclaimed stray, but he's left the past behind and is fully focused on his next big adventure—finding his forever family! Vinny came to us with a few small patches of missing fur on his face, likely from wearing a muzzle or halter for extended periods. Thankfully, his spirits weren't affected one bit. His outlook on life can be summed up in three words: "Let's be friends!" Seriously. Vinny hasn't met a stranger yet. Whether it's staff, volunteers, or someone walking by his kennel, his tail starts wagging before he's even finished saying hello. He's the kind of dog who believes everyone is a potential best friend and honestly, he's usually right. Vinny also gets along well with other dogs and has shown us he knows how to greet them politely. He'd likely enjoy sharing his home with another playful, friendly canine companion after proper introductions. Think of him as the enthusiastic coworker who's always organizing the office picnic. As a young adult, Vinny has plenty of energy to spare. Hiking? Absolutely. Long walks? Sign him up. Tossing a ball 47 times? He'll happily keep count (or at least try). After a day of adventures, though, he's at the perfect age to settle down and enjoy relaxing with his people. Being a Shepherd/Bully mix means Vinny is not only athletic but smart, too. He's eager to learn, loves being involved, and will thrive with positive reinforcement training, fun challenges, and lots of opportunities to use both his brain and his body. A bored Vinny is a creative Vinny—and trust us, you want that creativity directed toward puzzle toys, training games, and learning cool tricks! Vinny has all the ingredients to become an incredible companion: he's friendly, outgoing, playful, affectionate, and ready to give his whole heart to the people lucky enough to call him family. If your home could use a little more laughter, a lot more tail wags, and one incredibly lovable sidekick, Vinny is waiting to meet you. Life is simply more fun with Vinny. Could he be your next adventure partner? Please complete an adoption request: https://www.hamilton.ca/home-neighbourhood/animals-pets/adopt-or-foster-pet/adoptions Vinny has an appointment to be neutered on July 23rd. He will be ready to go to his forever home after recovering from this surgery. Animal adoptions and viewing are by appointment only. This allows our Adoption Staff to spend quality time with each potential home to ensure the most successful matches are made between the animals and their new families. *Please note: we only adopt within Ontario

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Vinny, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
