*Note: Currenty, Baroo is in Korea but will be flying to Toronto once adopted. For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please click here.BackgroundBaroo is a beautiful young Jindo girl who was rescued in Cheonan, Korea, in April 2026 after enduring a heartbreaking act of cruelty. She was found being dragged behind a motorcycle, leaving her exhausted and with severe injuries to her paw pads.Baroo had been living chained in a small village, surviving on human food scraps. Although it was clearly a case of animal abuse, rescuing her was not easy. After many conversations with the owner, he eventually agreed to surrender Baroo, allowing her to finally begin a new chapter in life. She was then brought to our partner boarding house, where she received the medical treatment she desperately needed. Today, Baroo has made a wonderful recovery and has blossomed into a happy, affectionate young dog. Despite everything she endured, she has never lost her love for people and greets everyone she meets with trust, joy, and a wagging tail.Personality and SocializationBaroo is a truly sweet and loving young girl with a heart full of joy. She has a medium energy level and loves spending time with people. When she meets new people, she happily greets both men and women with a wagging tail and a friendly smile. She is affectionate, playful, and loves being part of whatever is happening around her. Whether she’s asking for cuddles or joining in playtime, Baroo’s cheerful personality brightens everyone’s day.Baroo gets along wonderfully with other dogs and especially enjoys playful companions who like to run and wrestle together. She has excellent social skills and would happily share her home with another friendly dog. She has not yet been tested with cats or young children. However, based on her gentle and social nature, we believe she would likely do well with slow, proper introductions.BehavioursBaroo is a well-mannered young dog who enjoys an active but balanced lifestyle. She prefers to do her business outdoors and loves going for walks. She rides well in the car, behaves beautifully during veterinary visits and bath time, and walks nicely on leash. She is not destructive, although like many young dogs, she enjoys chewing on her toys. She rarely barks, except for the occasional excited bark while playing with her dog friends. Because Baroo is still young, she may need a little guidance as she settles into her new home. With consistency, patience, and plenty of love, she is expected to grow into an exceptional companion.Health and DietBaroo is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and receives regular parasite prevention. She has no known medical conditions or allergies and enjoys eating dry kibble twice a day. She has recovered beautifully from the injuries she suffered before her rescue and is now healthy, active, and ready to begin her new life with her forever family.Ideal HomeBaroo is a loving, easygoing girl who would make a wonderful companion for many families, including first-time dog parents. She would especially thrive in a home with someone who works from home or is retired, where she can enjoy plenty of companionship and won’t have to spend long hours alone. She would be happy as the only dog or with another playful, friendly companion who enjoys having fun together. Baroo has already overcome more hardship than any young dog should ever experience, yet she has never lost her kind heart or her love for people. Now she is simply looking for a family who will cherish her for the rest of her life. In return, Baroo will reward them with endless affection, unwavering loyalty, and a lifetime of unconditional love.*Note: Currenty, Baroo is in Korea but will be flying to Toronto once adopted. For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please click here.
