My story

Note: Puyomi is currently in Korea and will fly to Toronto once he is adopted. To learn more about Puyomi or to submit an adoption application, please click here.BackgroundPuyomi is a handsome mixed-breed boy who was rescued from the Chuncheon city shelter in December 2024. Because our shelter had no space available at the time, he stayed at another rescue facility until recently. Since arriving at our partner boarding house this spring, Puyomi has won everyone’s hearts with his gentle personality and sweet nature. Healthy, happy, and full of hope, he is now ready to find the loving forever family he has been waiting for.Personality and SocializationPuyomi is a truly gentle, affectionate, and easygoing boy. He has a calm, well-mannered personality and loves being around people. One of his best qualities is that he has absolutely no fear of strangers. Whether he meets men or women, Puyomi greets everyone with a friendly and welcoming attitude, making him an easy dog to fall in love with.He has a medium energy level and enjoys a balanced lifestyle that includes daily walks, spending time with his people, and relaxing nearby. He is affectionate without being demanding and is happiest simply being part of the family.Puyomi gets along very well with other dogs. He especially enjoys the company of calm, polite dogs and has a respectful, peaceful play style. He has not yet been tested with cats or young children. However, based on his gentle and social personality, we believe he would likely do well with slow, proper introductions.BehavioursPuyomi is an easy dog to live with. He prefers to do his business outdoors and enjoys going for walks. He rides calmly in the car, behaves beautifully during veterinary visits and bath time, and walks well on leash. He is not destructive, rarely barks, and is expected to adjust well to being left alone for reasonable periods. Overall, Puyomi is a low-maintenance companion who settles easily into daily life. His caregivers often describe him as an “easy dog” because he is so well behaved and asks for very little beyond love and companionship.Health and DietPuyomi is neutered, fully vaccinated up to date, microchipped, dewormed, and receives regular parasite prevention. After his rescue, Puyomi tested positive for Anaplasma, a common tick-borne disease. He completed his treatment, made a full recovery, and is now healthy and ready for his forever family. He has no known allergies and enjoys eating dry kibble twice a day.Ideal HomePuyomi would thrive in almost any loving home. His friendly personality, calm temperament, and affectionate nature make him a wonderful match for first-time dog owners, seniors, and experienced adopters alike. He would be perfectly happy as the only dog, where he can soak up all the love and attention, but he would also make an excellent second dog thanks to his easygoing nature and wonderful social skills.Whether you’re a family, a couple, or an individual looking for a loyal companion, Puyomi is ready to become your best friend. He is the kind of dog who asks for very little but gives so much in return. With his sweet personality and kind heart, Puyomi will fill his forever home with love, quiet companionship, and endless joy.Note: Puyomi is currently in Korea and will fly to Toronto once he is adopted. To learn more about Puyomi or to submit an adoption application, please click here.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Puyomi, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
