My story

At just 6 months old, Benny has already experienced more than most puppies ever should. He came into our care after being lovingly surrendered by his unhoused owner. Another rescue was providing community outreach in the area when they met Benny and his owner. They continued returning to offer support and resources, hoping that one day his owner would feel comfortable making the incredibly selfless decision to surrender Benny so he could have the future every puppy deserves. When that day came, we were honored to welcome him to Sky Sanctuary. Once Benny arrived, we gave him the time and space to decompress in one of our suites while getting him everything he needed to start his next chapter. He is now fully vaccinated, neutered, and thriving. Benny is the definition of a gentle soul. He greets everyone with the sweetest wiggles, a soft expression, and a heart that seems to overflow with love. He is affectionate without being overwhelming, eager to please, and simply enjoys being close to his people. While he's still just a puppy, it's clear he's going to grow into a big, handsome boy, with an even bigger heart. One thing we've learned over the years is that many of these street dogs are truly something special. They often develop incredible social skills, understand boundaries, and have a unique appreciation for kindness and stability. Benny is no exception. He has been an absolute joy in our care and continues to impress everyone he meets with his easygoing, well-mannered personality.
