My story

Pippa is a 1 1/2 year old, 4 pound tiny Yorkie who recently joined us when her owner could no longer care for her. She has had her spa day and is now looking for her forever home! Pippa is a sweet gentle girl who has led a little bit of a sheltered life but she warms up nicely, and is looking for a home to give her just a tiny bit of time to get used to her new life.Like many little dogs experiencing big changes, Pippa will need a little time to settle into a new home and learn that she's safe. New environments can feel overwhelming at first, but once she begins to trust you, her affectionate side shines through. Pippa will need a family committed to regular grooming to keep her beautiful coat looking and feeling its best. She's also still polishing her leash skills, so a little patience and positive reinforcement will help her build confidence.Pippa showed interest in meeting other dogs and may enjoy sharing her home with a calm canine companion rather than a high-energy playmate. We think she'd likely be happiest in a home with older, gentle children or adults who understand that she may need a little time to adjust. If you're looking for a sweet little lap companion who will reward your patience with love and devotion, Pippa may be the perfect match.Pippa will be available for adoption beginning Saturday, July 11, when the Friends for Life Adoption Center opens at 10:00 a.m. Please remember that all household members—including resident dogs—must meet Penny before an adoption can be finalized. To get started on the adoption process, visit https://azfriends.org/testing/adopt.html to complete an adoption consultation form, and then stop by the Adoption Center to meet with one of our adoption counselors. Or you can just come and see us and fill out a consultation form upon arrival! No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the animal. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In the event there is more than one home interested in the same animal, a lottery may be held that will include all families that are at our adoption center at the time we open the day the animal becomes available. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Pippa, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
