My story

*Note: Currently, Gongsoon is in Korea, but will be arriving in Toronto once adopted. For more information about this dog or to submit an adoption application, please click here.BackgroundGongsoon and her brother, Gongdol, were rescued from a neglect situation in Hwaseong this spring. They had been left outdoors with little more than discarded food scraps to survive on, without reliable access to fresh water or proper shelter. Thankfully, they were brought to safety before their situation became even more serious. Since her rescue, Gongsoon has been staying at a boarding facility alongside other dogs while she waits for a family of her own. Despite her difficult beginning, she has remained a happy, affectionate puppy who greets each day with a wagging tail and a bright spirit.Personality and SocializationGongsoon is a social butterfly who loves everyone she meets. She greets new people with confidence and enthusiasm, showing no hesitation around men, women, or visitors. Her affectionate nature and sweet personality make her an easy dog to adore. She loves receiving attention and happily soaks up pets, cuddles, and affection from anyone willing to share them. With a moderate energy level, Gongsoon enjoys both playtime and relaxation, making her a wonderful companionship.Gongsoon gets along very well with other dogs and especially enjoys playful friends who are close to her age and enjoy running and playing together. Whether she is meeting new canine companions or spending time with familiar ones, she is friendly, easygoing, and social. She has not been tested with cats. However, given her gentle and friendly temperament, we believe she may do well with a cat companion when introduced gradually and appropriately.BehavioursGongsoon is a well mannered young dog who has adapted beautifully to daily life. She enjoys her walks and walks well on leash. She rides comfortably in the car, behaves nicely during veterinary visits, and cooperates well during baths. Like many puppies her age, Gongsoon enjoys chewing on toys, which helps keep her entertained and mentally engaged. She currently prefers doing her business outdoors. As she is still young and has not yet experienced life in a home environment, it is difficult to predict whether she may develop separation anxiety. Like all young dogs, she will benefit from patience, routine, and positive reinforcement as she adjusts to family life.Health and DietGongsoon is spayed, dewormed, fully vaccinated, and receives monthly parasite prevention. She is healthy, happy, and ready to find her forever home. She has no known allergies and has not required any medical treatment beyond routine veterinary care.Gongsoon eats kibble twice a day and enjoys mealtime with enthusiasm.Ideal HomeGongsoon would thrive in a home that can continue guiding her through puppyhood while providing plenty of love, companionship, and positive experiences. An adopter who works from home, is retired, or otherwise has ample time to spend with her would be ideal. She would do best in a home where she is not left alone for long periods on a regular basis. She would be happy as an only dog as long as she receives plenty of attention and companionship from her people. She would also enjoy living with another friendly and playful dog. Because of her affectionate personality and friendly nature, Gongsoon could be a wonderful match for first time dog parents who are committed to helping a young dog continue learning and growing. Gongsoon has so much love to give, and whoever welcomes her into their family will be very lucky to call her their own.*Note: Currently, Gongsoon is in Korea, but will be arriving in Toronto once adopted. For more information about this dog or to submit an adoption application, please click here.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Gongsoon, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
