My story

*Note: Currently, Noonoo is in Korea, but she will be arriving in Toronto once adopted. For more info about the dog or the adoption applicaiton, please click her.BackgroundNoonoo was rescued just in time after being reported as a stray and placed on the euthanasia list at a municipal shelter. She was given a second chance and is now living in a foster home with a single woman in an apartment. She has settled into home life beautifully and is ready to find a loving family of her own.Personality and SocializationShe is a gentle, affectionate, and easygoing dog who loves being around people. She enjoys attention and will happily come over for pets and affection whenever someone is nearby. She is friendly with people of all ages, including children, and is equally comfortable with both men and women. She also gets along well with other dogs and lived peacefully with many dogs at the shelter. When out for walks, she shows little interest in cats and simply continues on her way.BehavioursNoonoo is a relaxed companion who adapts well to daily routines. She is currently working on being left alone. Like many dogs who have experienced abandonment, she initially found it difficult when her person left the house and would cry. With patient training, she has made wonderful progress. Her confidence continues to improve, and with consistency from her future family, she is expected to keep making progress.Noonoo has a calm nature and enjoys leisurely walks rather than fast paced adventures. She is currently taken outside for frequent short walks and she loves it. She is also able to use pee pads indoors when needed. Noonoo travels very well in the car and often relaxes or sleeps during rides. Bath time is also something she accepts without any fuss.Health and DietNoonoo is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, and up to date on her vaccinations. She also receives monthly parasite prevention. She has early stage degenerative mitral valve disease (Stage B1). At this stage, medication is not required. This is a common age related condition in small dogs. Many dogs live the rest of their lives without ever needing surgery, while others gradually progress to Stage B2 as they age. Regular veterinary checkups are recommended to monitor her heart health.Noonoo eats regular dry food and does not appear to be overly food motivated. She has not shown any sings of allergies.Ideal HomeNoonoo would thrive in a home with someone who works from home or is retired and can spend plenty of time with her would be ideal. She would be happy with a single person, a couple, or a family with respectful children. She could also live with another friendly dog, although she would be equally content as the only dog receiving all the love and attention. She is a sweet, calm, and loving companion who simply wants to be close to her people. After losing her home once, she deserves a family that will cherish her forever. With a little continued guidance and lots of love, she will reward her family with endless affection and loyal companionship.*Note: Currently, Noonoo is in Korea, but she will be arriving in Toronto once adopted. For more info about the dog or the adoption applicaiton, please click her.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Noonoo 2, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
