My story

QUICK FACTS Name: Hooni Age: 9-10 months old Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Golden Retriever Color: Brown Weight: 25kg / 55lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was rescued from an illegal puppy farm, where my future looked uncertain. It’s believed that I once had an owner when I was a young puppy, but I was sadly abandoned and eventually sold to the puppy farm. Thankfully, kind rescuers stepped in just in time and gave me the second chance I deserved. Despite everything I've been through, I'm an incredibly positive, outgoing, and curious boy. I love meeting new people, making dog friends, and exploring the world with a happy heart. My past may have been difficult, but it hasn't changed my loving spirit. Now I'm ready to start the next chapter of my life with a forever family who will cherish me and never let me go.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY I'm your typical happy-go-lucky pup with the lovable personality of a Golden Retriever! I'm incredibly smart and pick up new commands and routines very quickly. As a young dog, I'm full of energy, curiosity, and excitement for the world around me. I'm still learning that I'm not such a little puppy anymore, so I can get a bit overexcited, jump up, and pull quite strongly on walks. Because of my enthusiasm, I'll do best with a family that understands I'm still growing and is committed to continuing my basic training and socialization. With consistency, exercise, and a structured routine, I'm confident I'll mature into a wonderful, well-mannered adult. Right now, I'm simply an energetic youngster with a big heart, eager to learn and ready to share life's adventures with my forever family.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I absolutely love people! Everyone I meet is a new best friend, and I'm always excited to greet you with tail wags, hugs, and plenty of kisses. I love treats, which makes me highly motivated and eager to learn new things. I'm comfortable being picked up and enjoy staying close to my people. Despite everything I've been through, I've never lost my trust in humans, and I'm always ready to share my happy, affectionate personality with everyone I meet.   · With Dogs: I'm friendly with my dog friends and enjoy meeting new canine companions! I love saying hello, socializing, and spending time with other dogs. My happy, outgoing personality helps me get along well with my furry friends, and I'm always excited to make new ones. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown. A cat test can be arranged upon request to ensure the best fit.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a high energy level and absolutely love being outdoors! I'm curious about everything and enjoy sniffing, exploring, and discovering new places. As a young pup, I have lots of energy to burn and will thrive with plenty of walks, playtime, and opportunities to explore. Once I've had enough exercise and adventure, I'm happy to settle down indoors and relax with my family.   TRAINING & HABITS I'm still learning my leash manners and improving every day. As a young pup, I don't quite realize how big and strong I am yet, so I can pull quite hard on walks. Because of my size and enthusiasm, I could accidentally drag someone if I'm excited, so I'll need a confident handler who is committed to continuing my leash training. I don't guard my food from people, though I can be a little sensitive when other dogs are nearby during mealtimes. I'm generally a quiet boy who rarely barks and I know how to rest calmly in my kennel. For potty habits, I can use both pee pads indoors and go potty outdoors. Once I have a consistent walking routine, I'll happily prefer outdoor potty. Like many dogs, I may also mark when adjusting to a new environment, but this typically improves as I settle into my new home.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I'm an incredibly smart boy who loves to learn and picks up new skills quickly. As I'm still a young dog, I'm continuing to work on my impulse control and learning how to channel my excitement in positive ways. Because I'm a strong, high-drive pup, I'd do best with an experienced owner or a family who understands energetic dogs and is committed to providing continued training, structure, and plenty of physical and mental enrichment. To help me get off to the best start, I'll receive continued training with Red Maple K9 Dog Training in Ontario as I settle into my new home. With consistency, guidance, and patience, I know I'll mature into an amazing dog.
