My story

*Note: Currently, Soontan is in Korea, but he will be arriving in Toronto once he is adopted. For more info about the dog or adoption process, please visit our website. BackgroundSoontan was rescued in January 2026 from a private shelter in Gyeongsang Province that was forced to shut down. He was transferred to our partner boarding facility, where he has been receiving the care, attention, and stability he deserves. He has completed his veterinary checkup and passed our adoption screening process. Now, Soontan is ready to find a loving forever family.Personality and SocializationWith a medium energy level, Soontan is a friendly, affectionate, and charming boy who loves people. He has a naturally social personality and enjoys being around his human companions. Whether meeting men or women, Soontan greets everyone with the same happy and welcoming attitude. He loves attention and is always ready to share his sweet and affectionate nature.Soontan gets along wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys making new canine friends. He especially loves dogs who are gentle, friendly and well mannered. When he is around other dogs, he is happy, social, and well liked by his canine friends.BehavioursSoontan is a well behaved and adaptable dog who has excellent manners in many different situations. He walks well on a leash and enjoys his daily outings. He rides well in the car and remains calm during veterinary visits and bath time.He prefers doing his business outdoors and has been consistent with his outdoor potty routine. He does not have any unusual barking habits and has not shown any destructive chewing behaviours.Health and DietSoontan is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed. His vaccinations were completed in February 2026, and he receives regular monthly parasite prevention. When he was rescued, Soontan tested positive for heartworms. He has since completed treatment and made a full recovery. He has no known allergies and is now healthy and ready to begin the next chapter of his life with a forever family.Ideal HomeSoontan is a loving, social, and easygoing dog who could fit well into many different types of homes. He would be happy with a family, a couple, or an individual looking for a loyal companion to share everyday life with.Because he loves people and enjoys companionship, he would thrive in a home where he can spend plenty of time with his family and be included in daily activities. He also gets along beautifully with other dogs and would likely enjoy having a canine companion, though this is not required.Soontan has overcome a difficult start in life and has never lost his trusting and affectionate nature. He is ready to leave his past behind and find a family who will cherish him forever. In return, he will offer endless love, companionship, and devotion.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Soontan, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
