My story

At approximately 1 to 2 years old, Livvy is a lovable bully mix who arrived as an unclaimed stray and is now searching for a family of her very own. While we don't know much about her past, we do know that her future is looking bright! Livvy is a medium-energy girl who keeps her kennel tidy, loves meeting new people, and firmly believes that every stranger is just a friend she hasn't greeted yet. She's already mastered "sit" and is currently expanding her resume with "paw" and "stay." Like many young professionals, she's eager to learn and highly motivated by snacks. Speaking of snacks, Livvy would happily like you to know that she considers food a love language. Treats, puzzles, food searches, lick mats, and sniffing games are all excellent ways to keep her busy. As a smart bully mix, she thrives when her brain gets as much exercise as her body. On walks, Livvy approaches life with enthusiasm. If she catches an interesting scent, she may temporarily forget she's attached to a human and begin following her nose with great determination. Loose-leash walking is definitely on her "to-do" list, and she'd benefit greatly from continued training and consistency. When meeting another dog, Livvy can make quite the entrance. Think excited party guest rather than rude neighbour. After the initial excitement, she settled nicely and was content to coexist and investigate the world around her. Because she's still learning social skills, she would likely do best as an only dog or with a carefully matched canine companion who doesn't mind helping a young dog figure things out. Livvy also has a habit of expressing her affection vertically. If she's excited to see you, she may attempt to become your personal lap dog despite being considerably larger than a lap. Older, dog-savvy children may be a good fit, but supervision is important, and she'd benefit from continuing to work on her manners. At the end of the day, Livvy is exactly what many people are looking for: friendly, affectionate, eager to learn, and ready to build a strong bond with her family. She has all the ingredients to become an amazing companionshe just needs someone willing to invest a little time, patience, and training. If you're looking for a dog who will make you laugh, keep you active, and love you with her whole heart, Livvy is ready to leave shelter life behind and start her next adventure with you. Please complete an adoption application: Bonus Livvy fact: she currently believes every smell within a 3-kilometre radius deserves immediate investigation. Training may convince her otherwise. Maybe. https://www.hamilton.ca/home-neighbourhood/animals-pets/adopt-or-foster-pet/adoptions Animal adoptions and viewing are by appointment only. This allows our Adoption Staff to spend quality time with each potential home to ensure the most successful matches are made between the animals and their new families. *Please note: we only adopt within Ontario

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Livvy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
