My story

Meet Opal! Opal is a beautiful tricolored puppy with a confident personality and plenty of charm. Like her brother, she has big paws that suggest she'll grow into a medium-to-large-sized dog. This smart girl is already showing off her adventurous side. Opal has discovered that she can climb onto the top of her crate, earning herself the title of resident escape artist. Fortunately, her motivation isn't mischief-she simply wants to be closer to her people. Opal is the more confident and dominant of the sibling pair, always ready to explore and take the lead. She loves toys, enjoys treats, and is a great eater. Opal is highly food-motivated, which should make training both fun and productive. Although she hasn't had many opportunities to get out and about due to her age and vaccination schedule, she impressed everyone at her adoption event by being calm, quiet, and well-behaved. Opal combines confidence with a sweet nature, making her a wonderful family companion. She would love a home where she can continue learning, playing, and sharing her affection with her people. Because of her expected size, a family with older children would likely be an excellent match. Crate size recommended: 36" now but will probably require a 42" when grown Good with adults: yes Good with kids: yes Good with other dogs: yes Good with cats: has not been cat tested House trained: work in progress Crate trained: yes Energy level: moderate Can be handled/touched: yes Barker: not much Flight risk: no; however, all dogs should be considered flight risks in new environments Food aggressive: no Current food: Purina One Puppy Walks on leash: work in progress Leash reactive to people or dogs: no Rides well in car: rides well in a crate in a car Destructive: they are puppies, so they can be chewers and curious about all things Needs a home with a yard: would be preferred Needs a home with another dog: she would love a buddy, but not required Can live in an apartment: no Please visit our website niagaradogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.
