My story

Hi, I'm Helena! If you're looking for a dog who's beautiful, smart, athletic, and knows she's all of those things, we should probably talk.I'm a 2-year-old shepherd mix weighing about 54 pounds, which I've been told is the perfect size for adventures, road trips, hiking, and occasionally trying to convince you that I belong on the couch. I love attention, enjoy being active, and I'm looking for a family that can keep up with my energy and help me continue learning. Training? Count me in. Exercise? Absolutely. Hanging out with my people? That's my favorite part.I've done well at dog parks and may enjoy having a doggie playmate, though of course we'd want to make sure we're a good match first. I'm looking for adopters who appreciate smart, active dogs and understand that keeping my brain busy is just as important as keeping my paws moving.Now, because honesty is important, I should mention that I've been known to be a little creative when it comes to confinement. Wire crates? Let's just say I've expressed some strong opinions about them. I've also been known to help myself to items left on counters and can become destructive if I'm bored or left unattended without appropriate management.
