My story

Bernard is a young, friendly dog with a zest for life and plenty of enthusiasm to share. He loves being on the go and is looking for an active home that can keep up with his adventurous spirit. Whether it`s long walks and hikes, playtime in the yard, or learning new skills, Bernard is happiest when he has an outlet for his energy and curiosity. When meeting new people or exploring unfamiliar places, Bernard can be a little shy at first. Give him a moment though, and his sweet, affectionate personality quickly shines through! Once he feels comfortable, he`s eager to make friends and be part of the action. Bernard would thrive with adopters who are ready to embrace an active lifestyle and help him continue building his confidence. In return, he`ll reward you with fun and plenty of happy wiggles.If you`re looking for a loyal adventure buddy with lots of potential, Bernard may be the perfect match for you!IN-SHELTER NOTES & IDEAL HOMESIZE:39 lbs.HOME TYPE:House or Townhouse- Bernard would do best in a home without shared walls as he can be vocal at times. CHILDREN:Yes- potentially compatible with older children as Bernard is a large dog who can be jumpy and mouthy. CATS & SMALL ANIMALS:Yes- Cats potentially compatible with slow proper introduction.OTHER DOGS:Yes- Dogs potentially compatible.ACTIVITY/ENERGY LEVEL:High; will need a lot of daily exercise, enrichment and mental stimulation.HUMAN COMPATIBILTY:First time dog owner possible. Bernard will also require regular grooming in his new home. TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/NEEDS:At least three in-person training sessions to work on socialization, basic training and manners.HUMAN SOCIAL IN SHELTER:Very human social.
