My story

*Note: Lanie is currently in Korea, but will be arriving in Toronto once she is adopted. For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please click here.BackgroundLanie was rescued from a city pound in Miryang in September 2025. Like many dogs there, her future was uncertain. Thankfully, she was given a second chance and safely brought into our care. After her rescue, she moved to our partner boarding house, where she has been living peacefully with other dogs. From the very beginning, Lanie showed everyone how gentle and easygoing she truly is. She adjusted quietly, without fuss, and revealed her soft and steady nature.Personality and SocializationLanie is still young but carries herself with a calm and steady presence. She has a moderate energy level. She enjoys her walks and time outdoors, but she is not demanding or overly active. She is simply happy to move at a comfortable pace and then relax by your side. Lanie is not shy around men or women and greets people politely. She is generally fine with strangegrs. With other dogs, Lanie is gentle and respectful. She doesn’t seek out rough play and is not overly interested in other dogs, but she coexists peacefully. She does not pick fights and does not show pushy behavior. She especially appreciates calm and well mannered companions, though she is not picky and generally gets along with everyone. She hasn’t yet been tested with cats. However, based on her gentle and laidback personality, we belived she would likely do well with cats when introduced slowly, and properly with patience.BehavioursLanie is a quiet and easy companion. She doesn’t bark and doesn’t have destructive habits. She prefers to do her business outdoors and has good bathroom habits. She walks nicely on leash and enjoys her daily walks. She rides well in the car and remains calm. At the veterinary clinic, she behaves well, and she also tolerates bath time without any issues. She doesn’t show signs of separation anxiety and is the type of dog who settles calmly when left alone. She has proven to be very low maintenance and easygoing.Health and DietLanie is spayed, dewormed, and microchipped. She is fully vaccinated and up to date, and she receives monthly parasite prevention. When Lanie was first rescued, she had heartworms. She successfully completed her heartworm treatment and has made a full recovery. She also underwent surgery to remove mammary tumors and has recovered well. Lanie is healthy, happy, and thriving. She is ready to leave her past behind and begin the next chapter of her life with a loving forever family. She eats kibble twice a day and has a good appetite. She has shown no signs of allergies and is currently in very good condition.Ideal HomeLanie would thrive in many different types of homes thanks to her gentle, easygoing, and adaptable nature. She would make a wonderful companion for first time dog parents, retirees, families with respectful children, or a home with another calm and friendly dog. Her sweet temperament allows her to adjust well to new environments and routines, making her an excellent addition to a variety of households. She is a gentle, sweet and steady girl who does not ask for much. In return, she offers quiet companionship, loyalty, and a peaceful presence. Lanie is simply waiting for someone to notice her soft heart and welcome her into a forever home.*Note: Lanie is currently in Korea, but will be arriving in Toronto once she is adopted. For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please click here.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Lanie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
