My story

Meet Danny DeVito — the dog, not the actor, though they’re both compact, charismatic, and built like a meatball with legs. Danny is a six-year-old, 16-pound Chihuahua/Pug mix, otherwise known as a “Chug.” He’s possibly part vacuum cleaner judging by how enthusiastically he follows his nose around the yard. We suspect there may be a Beagle somewhere in his family tree. This little detective is always working an active scent investigation. Danny landed on the Maricopa County euthanasia list after a fear-based nip incident when he was startled by fast handling. Thankfully, Home Fur Good stepped in just in time. Since arriving at the shelter, Danny has proven himself to be a completely different dog, accepting handling calmly and showing off his goofy, lovable personality. Like his famous namesake, Danny is short, stout, low to the ground, and operating with approximately zero visible neck. He’s an amusing little guy with a big heart and a talent for making people laugh simply by existing. Danny DeVito’s adoption fee of $250 covers neutering, vaccinations, microchipping, and a complimentary wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. To meet Danny, call 602-971-1334 to schedule an appointment, or visit Thursday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for walk-ins.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Danny Devito, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
