My story

*Fostered in Hamilton*Apply at rebeldogrescue.com*FOSTER TO ADOPT Maple is an adorable mixed breed who was found wandering the streets of Austin, TX, pregnant. She was rescued and came to Canada, becoming mama to 7 little pups. Now that her babies are preparing to go to their forever homes, it is time to find Maple a family too! We are unsure what her breed is, but she has a long body, long hair, and adorable ears - one sticking up and one flopping down. She has been an amazing mama, and has been protective of her babies towards those she doesn't know. Once she accepts you she will love you. We wonder if this may stop once she is no longer with her babies - however, continued socialization/training should be considered. Once Maple trusts you she is a darling. She will crawl beside you or into your lap on the couch and seek out affection. She loves belly rubs and getting pets. Like most dogs she has a couple things to improve on, such as sometimes being leash reactive, but overall she is a pretty low maintenance gal, and will make a wonderful companion. Can go to forever home after June 29.Name: MapleBreed: Mixed Breed Age: ~2 yearsWeight: ~12lbSex: Female, spay booked at partner clinic in HamiltonColour: Brown and whiteMedical: Severe overbite, No concerns Good with men: Yes, after warming upGood with women: Yes, after warming up Good with kids: 10+ - has met young kids and done well but has not lived with kidsWhen the dog meets new people she…Approaches cautiously, may bark at them. She is very friendly and loving once she accepts you.Good with dogs: Yes, happy to co-exist with other dogsHow does this dog react to meeting new dogs? Limited interactions - however has met dogs 5lb to 70lb+ and done well. Fostered with other dogs. What type(s) of dogs does this dog prefer/be best with? She would be okay with dogs of any size, and would probably prefer calmer dogs as she hasn't tried to play with foster siblings and may get annoyed if another dog is all over her Good with Cats: Unknown, not tested - suspect yes with proper intros Crate training: Enters crate willingly, Settles after some barking/whiningHouse training: 75% - she does great when let out regularly and is learning a routine Resource guarding: None seenWalks on a leash: Yes - has been reactive at times to other dogsEnergy level: Medium - enjoys regular exercise and adventures as well as relaxing calmly in the homeAreas to work on: Meeting new people, leash reactivity, noise reactiveAny noted separation anxiety? None seenBarker: Average
