My story

Easy-going, Friendly & Affectionate To Baxter a `stranger` is just a best friend that hasn`t realized that they love him, as much as he loves them. BIO: - Golden Retriever/Labrador MIx, 5 yrs old, Male (neutered)- Medium/Large size (55 lb), High-energy- Baxter was found as a stray and was at an over-crowded municipal shelter before coming to EHS- Baxter is house-trained, microchipped, and has his core vaccinationsABOUT BAXTER: -On a leash Baxter tries to greet every person and dog he sees with tail wagging enthusiasm, he'll do well with structure, routine and leash manners training - Baxter loves being around people and soaking up all the attention and pets he can get- Baxter loves a good game of fetch & retrieve, and he's really good at it- He definitely has Labrador Retriever traits - he can get excited easily but given time to calm down, as well as some good walk time and games, he can be a true couch potato- He is food motivated and responds well to obedience cues and interaction with people, making him a great candidate for positive reinforcement trainingBAXTERS IDEAL HOME:- Baxter would thrive in an active household that can provide plenty of physical exercise and mental enrichment- Baxter can be vocal in his kennel when he wants attention, so may do best in a home without shared walls- He can become excited and jumpy when greeting people, if there are children in the home, older kids would be best- Baxter may do well with another dog or cat in the home, if his adopter already has a pet we will arrange for a meet and greetBaxter is smart and eager to please, with structure and consistency, he will make an excellent companion for a family ready to include him in their daily adventures.
