My story

Holland is a silly little 2-year-old Chihuahua weighing just 9 pounds, and he's ready to find a family to call his own! This charming guy has a fun-loving personality and a sweet, affectionate side that makes him easy to fall in love with.Holland enjoys being close to his people and is more than happy to curl up in your lap for some quality cuddle time. He loves chin scratches, enjoys being carried, and is easy to handle. When treats are involved, Holland shows off his excellent manners by accepting them gently.This social little pup also showed interest in playing with some of the dogs he met during his behavior assessment. While he could benefit from a little leash training to help him become the best walking companion he can be, he's eager to learn and has all the makings of a wonderful best friend.If you're looking for a small dog with a big personality, plenty of affection to give, and a playful spark, Holland would love to meet you!To get started in the process of meeting Holland, please visit https://azfriends.org/testing/adopt.html to complete an adoption consultation form, and then come by the Adoption Center to meet with one of our adoption counselors. No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the animal. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)!Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In the event there is more than one home interested in the same animal, a lottery may be held that will include all families that are at our adoption center at the time we open the day the animal becomes available. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).
