My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.APRICOT hails from the Northern community of Kasabonica and came south with her 3 siblings, Clementine, Papaya and Tangerine to find her forever home. She’s had her 2 sets of puppy vaccines, a microchip, “Interceptor Plus” dewormer and been deemed a healthy girl by her Vet. We have no information on either parent so the breeds we have her listed as and the size she’ll grow to be is just an educated guess. Seeing as she comes from a community with lots of stray dogs do she no doubt has many different breeds in her that are not as notable as well. This “Orange” Litter is very chill and relaxed and her foster says they’re a very quiet litter as well. She really loves to socialize with people and will excitedly run up to them with her tail wagging to greet them. She loves to be picked up and snuggled into you. With her happy personality and loving nature she’s ready to find her forever home where she can continue to thrive and grow. APRICOT is the boss lady of the litter and likes to try and keep everyone in line. She’s also an adventurous, playful puppy who’s full of curiosity. She happily plays with her siblings and as long as she’s in charge then she’s a happy girl. She loves to chase a ball around, especially the spikey type and she’ll chew on it as well. This beautiful girl loves to spend time outside sitting in the sun and also in a big bowl of water. The bowl was actually put outside as a big drinking bowl for her and her siblings to drink from but she jumped right in it and just sat there enjoying a nice soak.  APRICOT is totally crate trained and sleeps quietly in it all night and will also take her naps in it during the day too. She loves going on walks and gets really excited when she knows she’s going on one. She rarely has an accident in the home but she is taken outside regularly for bathroom breaks. She’s not quite at the stage where she’ll ask to go outside though. Due to teething, she’s at a chewing stage and needs lots of chewy bones and toys to keep those little teeth busy. She’s starting to learn basic commands such as to “sit” for her meals and to take treats “gentle.” APRICOT’s ideal family would be an active one who loves the outdoors, going on hikes, walks and will take her on adventures with them as well. She really loves to go in a vehicle and will just rest in her crate and quietly enjoy being driven around. She’s socialized with other dogs as there’s 3 resident dogs in her foster home and she loves to be around them. She would suit a home with a dog but she can also be an only dog provided she’s not left alone for long periods of time. She does have 2 cats in the home but there’s no real interaction with them at this stage. However, if there’s one in the home we recommend the same as with a dog in the home and that is a slow, monitored introduction between them while the puppy is held on a leash. She needs a fenced-in yard so she can run around and play safely. Children should be aged 6yrs and up plus be gentle, loving and caring towards animals. APRICOT, like all puppies is cute, playful and fun but she’ll also require a lot of time, patience and dedication to training. We need her adopter to commit to signing her up for puppy training/obedience classes so she can be the best well behaved puppy possible. Her spay is included in her adoption fee and her adopter must be in agreement to have her spay performed by the time she’s 6 months of age and it will either be at our vet’s office or at the Barrie SPCA. You do have the option to use your own vet and we’ll reimburse you what we would’ve paid for it at the SPCA. However, her spay will still have to be performed in the above timeframe. For the reimbursement we will need a copy of the surgery invoice and an updated photo of her (preferably in her onsie or a cone after the surgery.) The photo will be put on our fb page along with other animals that were spay/neutered that same week. If APRICOT sounds like She’d suit your home and lifestyle then please submit an adoption application to meet her. It should be noted that puppies personalities can change daily/weekly as their little brains develop. We try to keep our puppy postings as up-to-date as possible but due to their development, it’s not always possible to note 100% accurate behavioural information. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 9, 2026, 11:43 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt APRICOT, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
