My story

Foster notes/backstoryFrieda's story is a true rescue story. We walk our dogs when time permits by the lake, so all loaded up in the cars, ready to drive to the lake, which is a huge dumping ground for dogs in this area, and sure enough, here hobbles Frieda toward our moving car begging for help. Of course we stopped and brought her home and proper vetting was provided, including FHO surgery to fix her hip.She was in pain when she arrived, quiet, stoic almost, not showing much emotion........until she started feeling healthy and made a total 180!!!!She is funny, she makes the craziest grimaces, she likes to have conversations and also will complain if You are not fast enough to fix her lunch.Frieda is fed separately because as most dogs that have experienced starvation, she is in food protective mode but not food aggressive. She will sit and wait her turn to get treats with 10 other dogs around her.Frieda also likes her beauty naps and does not get up in the morning until she is woken up......Diva! She is so entertaining and wonderfully peculiar, she is one of a kind. Have I mentioned that she does not shed much? Easy maintenance, no special grooming required. Now I need to make clear that she still occasionally lifts her previously bad leg, which I think is mostly out of habit, and her mobility is steadily improving. I have truly enjoyed having her because she makes me laugh especially when she and I have deep discussions over important social issues such as how much longer she has to wait on a new batch of peanut butter dog cookies. I promise, if given the chance to adjust to a new home and given the patience, You will not regret adopting this stunning lady. She also loves to "help" with folding towels and stealing my tennis shoes to put them in the living room.
