My story

QUICK FACTS Name: Fu Bao Age: 7 months old Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Labrador Mix Color: Black (with white fur on my face, chest, and legs) Weight: 17kg / 37.5lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was rescued from an illegal dog meat farm and given a second chance at life. During the first six months of my life, I lived in a small cage and had very little opportunity to experience the world around me. When I was rescued, many everyday things were completely new to me—even walking on the ground was something I had to learn. Despite my difficult start, I've come a long way. With patience, care, and love, I've learned how to walk, run, play, and enjoy life like a puppy should. Every day, I'm growing more confident and discovering new things about the world. Now, I'm ready to leave my past behind and find a forever family who will continue helping me blossom into the wonderful companion I was always meant to be.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY Volunteers and staff always compliment how gentle, sweet, and kind I am. I still have lots to learn as a young pup, but everyone sees so much potential in me and is excited to watch me continue to grow and blossom. I have big paws, and volunteers often laugh that shaking my paw feels more like shaking a human hand than a puppy's! Although I'm a bigger girl, I'm still very much a giant baby at heart who loves affection, attention, and being close to my people. I'm incredibly friendly with both people and dogs, and I approach the world with a loving, gentle nature that wins over everyone I meet.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I'm a very friendly and social girl who loves meeting people! I especially enjoy treats, and I always take them gently from your hand with excellent manners. You might be surprised to learn I'm still a young puppy because I can be so calm, patient, and well-behaved. Despite my difficult past, I'm incredibly trusting of people and genuinely enjoy human companionship. During my profile photoshoot, I quickly became comfortable with the volunteers and staff, soaking up all the attention and affection. By the end of the session, I felt so relaxed and safe that I was dozing off for a nap! My gentle nature and loving personality make it easy for me to form connections with the people around me. · With Dogs: I'm a very social girl who loves making new dog friends! I enjoy greeting other dogs, spending time together, and joining in on play sessions. Whether they're big or small, I get along well with dogs of all sizes and have a naturally friendly, easygoing personality. I'm not interested in drama and prefer to keep the peace. Even if another dog is a little pushy or rude, I usually choose to walk away rather than engage in conflict. My gentle and patient nature helps me get along well with others, making me a wonderful companion for both canine and human friends alike. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown. A cat test can be arranged upon request to ensure the best fit.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a higher energy level and love exploring the world around me! I'm a curious girl who enjoys investigating new sights, sounds, and experiences. Whether it's going for walks, playing with my dog friends, or checking out something new, I'm always excited to see what adventures the day brings. Once I've had my fun and burned off some energy, I'm happy to settle down and relax. A cozy nap and some quiet time with my people are the perfect way to recharge before my next adventure.   TRAINING & HABITS I'm still learning my leash manners and building confidence as I experience new things. Sometimes unfamiliar sights or situations can make me a little nervous, but I'm making great progress every day and becoming more comfortable with the world around me. I have excellent manners around food and do not guard my meals from people or other dogs. I'm also a quiet girl who rarely barks and know how to settle calmly in my kennel when it's time to rest. For potty habits, I can use both pee pads indoors and go potty outdoors, giving my future family a great foundation to build on. As a young puppy, I still have lots to learn, but with continued guidance, patience, and encouragement, I'll continue to blossom into a confident, well-rounded companion.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I absolutely adore people and am a true gentle giant baby at heart. One of my favorite things is simply being near my humans—I love following people around and keeping them company wherever they go. I've been told I have the cutest mellow, laid-back expression that can make people laugh and smile without even trying. Despite my larger size, I'm a soft-hearted girl who just wants to be loved and included. My gentle nature, sweet personality, and affectionate spirit have made me a favorite among the volunteers and staff who know me best. I'm still young and have so much growing and learning ahead of me.
