My story

As a part of OG's Starting Five, I will receive a year of free pet food from Royal Canin. VCA will also provide one free year of unlimited exams with a CareClub Access Plan.Meet Sammy!Sammy's story began when he was found abandoned in a cardboard box and brought to ACC as a stray. The shelter has been a big adjustment for this sensitive guy, but with patience and kindness he has shown everyone just how sweet he can be. Once he feels safe, Sammy enjoys gentle head scratches, cheek rubs, tasty treats, and quiet companionship. He may not be the first cat to greet you at the door, but he has a soft, affectionate side that shines through when given the chance.My Ideal HomeSammy is looking for a calm, patient home where he can settle in at his own pace. He can be startled by sudden noises and fast movements, so he will do best with adopters who understand that trust takes time. Once he feels comfortable, Sammy enjoys attention and has shown that he can be a loving companion. A quieter environment and a predictable routine will help him thrive.Good with Kids?Sammy would do best with respectful older children who can understand his need for space and gentle interactions. Because he is easily startled, a home without young children is recommended.Good with Other Pets?There is no known history of Sammy living with other pets. Slow, thoughtful introductions would be recommended with any resident animals.Medical NotesSammy is currently in good health. He received treatment for minor ear irritation and a mild eye infection while in our care, both of which have resolved.
