My story

As a part of OG's Starting Five, I will receive a year of free pet food from Royal Canin. VCA will also provide one free year of unlimited exams with a CareClub Access Plan.Meet Roxie!Roxie is a petite orange-and-white sweetheart who found herself at ACC after her family felt she was no longer a good fit for their home. While her previous owners reported concerns about behavior changes after a new baby arrived, Roxie has shown us a very different side in the shelter. She greets familiar people with soft chirps, head bunts, and plenty of affection, proving that beneath her cautious exterior is a cat who truly enjoys companionship. My Ideal HomeRoxie is looking for a quiet, predictable adult home where she can settle in at her own pace. She enjoys attention and affection but prefers interactions on her terms. An adopter with some cat experience who understands feline body language and can give her time to decompress will help her thrive.Good with Other Pets? She would do best as the only pet, or with an experienced adopter who is comfortable managing a careful cat-to-cat introduction.Overall HealthRoxie is healthy overall. She arrived mildly underweight. Medical testing, including bloodwork and thyroid screening, was unremarkable. Since arriving at ACC, Roxie has consistently used her litter box with no accidents observed.Behavior DeterminationRoxie is social, sweet, easy to handle, and enjoys attention from people she trusts. She would do best with adopters who understand that some cats need time to adjust and appreciate having choices about when and how they interact. Her favorite volunteer Evelyne volunteer writes:Roxie is a tiny speck of a cat usually seen laying at the very back of her cubby (she is only 5.5 pounds)but as soon as her door is opened, she gets up and comes gingerly to salute her visitor. She loves attention and cuddles. She loves to play with feather wands and catnip toys and it is a pleasure to watch how happy she is rolling around. Pretty Roxie has been nothing but a charm with us at the care center.Other Fun FactsRoxie may be tiny, but she has a big personality! She loves feather toys, catnip toys, cheek scratches, and head rubs. Her previous owner says she entertains herself by chasing her own tail and getting the occasional case of zoomie's. Volunteers describe her as affectionate, playful, and surprisingly cuddly once she feels comfortable. She's also a bit of an escape artist, so keeping doors and windows secure will be important in her new home. 🧡 Primary Color: Orange Secondary Color: White Weight: 5.5 Age: 6yrs 1mths 3wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Roxie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
