QUICK FACTS Name: Koa Age: About 7 Years Old Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Poodle Color: Silver Weight: 5.8kg / 12.7lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I spent my days as a grooming practice dog at a beauty academy. Many hands came and went, but what I wanted most was someone to truly see me. One day, that finally happened. I was rescued and given the chance to leave that life behind. Now I'm learning what it feels like to be cared for not as a lesson, but as a companion. Each day brings a little more comfort, a little more confidence, and a lot more tail wags. I'm ready to share all that love with someone of my very own.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Spayed & healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY Hi, I’m Koa. I’m a lovely girl with a sweet personality and a wonderful balance of playfulness and calmness. I adore people and genuinely enjoy being around them, which means it usually doesn’t take long for us to become friends—especially if a few tasty treats happen to be involved. I have a warm, affectionate nature and enjoy being part of daily life with my humans. Whether it’s spending time together, following you around the house, or simply being nearby, I feel happiest when I’m included. If you’re looking for a bright, affectionate companion who loves people with her whole heart and thrives on connection, I’d love to find a family who will help me continue growing into my very best self.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be a little shy at first, but it doesn’t take me long to warm up—especially if treats are involved. Once I feel comfortable, I happily accept gentle touch and enjoy being close to my people. I’m also comfortable being picked up, which helps me feel safe, secure, and cared for. · With Dogs: I’m a naturally social dog who loves meeting new friends—I’ll happily walk right up, say hello, and invite them to play. Big dogs, small dogs, or dogs my own size, I greet everyone with the same friendly and open-hearted attitude. I enjoy being around other dogs and approach new friendships with an easygoing, welcoming spirit.  · With Cats: I’m curious about cats and may pause to watch them with interest when I spot one. With a gentle cue from my person, though, I’m happy to refocus and continue my way.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have moderate energy level – I enjoy spending time outdoors and exploring at a comfortable pace, then settling down quietly once I’ve had my fun. On walks, I can get a little excited and pull at times, but I naturally stay connected and follow my person well. Since I’m still gaining experience, unfamiliar things can sometimes make me pause and lower myself for reassurance. With gentle encouragement and patience, I continue to grow more confident with each new adventure.   TRAINING & HABITS I have a gentle, easygoing nature and feel comfortable sharing my space, even around food. I settle calmly in a kennel I adapt well to both indoor pads and outdoor bathroom breaks.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES Because I form strong bonds with my people, I would do best with a family that understands how important companionship and emotional support are to me and can help me build confidence through patience, routine, and reassurance. Food is one of my favorite things, and I can get quite excited when mealtime is approaching.
