You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.MUSKOKA hails from the Northern community of Keywaywin and came south with her 3 siblings, Cottage, Dock and Bonfire to find her forever home. She’s had 2 sets of puppy vaccines, a microchip, “Interceptor Plus” dewormer and been deemed a healthy girl by her Vet. We have no information on either parent so the breeds we have her listed as and the size she’ll grow to be is just an educated guess. Seeing as she comes from a community with lots of stray dogs she no doubt has many different breeds in her that are not as notable as well. She really loves to socialize with people and will excitedly run up to them with her tail wagging to greet them. With her happy personality and loving nature she’s ready to find her forever home where she can continue to thrive and grow. MUSKOKA is sweet, playful and full of curiosity girl but she does have a dominant side too. She’s def purely the one in the litter to keep everyone in line and none of them get the better of her. She definitely needs her adopter to be Shepherd savvy and have a lot of experience with them. She’s also a very affectionate little lady who loves to sit with her foster for snuggles. MUSKOKA is crate trained and will sleep in it quietly at night and also take her naps in it during the day. She loves going on walks and gets excited when she knows she’s going on one. She’s now understanding that walks are also a time to use the bathroom. She’s at a teething stage now so she has lots of chewy toys to keep those little teeth busy. She’s starting to learn a couple of basic commands already such as to “sit” for her meals and to take treats “gentle.” MUSKOKA’s ideal family would be an active one who loves the outdoors, going on hikes, walks and will take her on adventures with them. She really loves to go in a vehicle and will just rest in her crate and quietly enjoy being driven around. There’s another litter of puppies in her foster home and they get on all love to play together. We feel she would do well with another dog in the home but she can be an o my it’s as long as she’s not left alone for long periods if time. She does have 2 foster cats in her home but there’s not really any interaction between them. If there is a cat in her new home then they should be dog savvy and we always recommend that a slow, monitored introduction be made between them while the puppy is on a leash. She needs a fenced-in yard so she can run around and play safely and she is not suitable for an apartment. Children should be aged 6yrs and up plus be gentle, loving and caring towards animals. MUSKOKA, like all puppies is cute, playful and a fun puppy but she’ll also require a lot of time, patience and dedication to training. We need her adopter to commit to signing her up for puppy training/obedience classes so she can be the most well behaved puppy possible. Her spay is included in her adoption fee and her potential adopter must be in agreement to have her spay performed by the time she’s 6 months of age. It will either be at our vet’s office or be at the Barrie SPCA. You do have the option to use your own vet and we’ll reimburse you what we would’ve paid for it there. However her spay will still have to be performed in the above timeframe. For the reimbursement we will need a copy of the procedure invoice and an updated photo of her (preferably in a onsie or cone after the surgery.) The photo will be put on our fb page along with other animals that were spay/neutered that same week. If MUSKOKA sounds like she’d suit your home and lifestyle then please submit an adoption application to meet her. It should be noted that puppies personalities can change daily/weekly as their little brains develop. We try to keep our puppy postings as up-to-date as possible but due to their development, it’s not always possible to note 100% accurate behavioural information.
