My story

Thank you for your interest in adopting a cat or dog. We are open for walk in visitors 10am-5pm 7 days a week. NO Appointments needed. Clyde is the definition of a gentle giant. At about 83 pounds, this big, happy boy is overflowing with love, personality, and enthusiasm for life. He absolutely adores people and believes attention should be a full-time job — preferably one that includes belly rubs, cuddles, and being told how handsome he is. Despite his size, Clyde truly thinks he’s a lap dog and would happily spend all day snuggled up with his favorite humans. Sadly, Clyde’s mom recently passed away, and he’s understandably very confused and heartbroken in the shelter environment. Even through all of that change, he remains incredibly friendly, social, and eager to connect with everyone he meets. More than anything, Clyde deserves a home that will spoil him, love him, and treat him like the king he knows he is. Clyde gets along very well with his doggy friend, though he can come across as a bit dominant when meeting other dogs. Slow introductions and continued guidance will help him be successful. He’s also currently on a weight loss journey so he can stay healthy, comfortable, and happy for years to come. Because he is a strong boy on leash, Clyde would do best with a confident handler who can manage his strength and continue working on his walking skills. Overall, Clyde is just a really good dog with a huge heart. He has so much love to give and would fit beautifully into many different types of homes looking for a loyal, affectionate companion.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Clyde, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
