My story

Hi there, I’m Donny!I am a sweet boy who gets excited when seeing new people. I can be a bit nervous if people come on too strong but love when they are calm and gentle! I arrived as a stray found roaming in the country with my friend/relative, Marie. My past is unknown but my GHS humans wonder we`ve I`ve ever lived in a home before. I love to spend ALL day in the outdoor portion of my kennel and would probably stay there all night too, if they`d let me - they don`t, despite my numerous requests, in case you`re wondering. My other favorite place to be is in a pool of water. I love lounging in water and would sleep there if it was safe. While I was nervous about walking on leash and going through doorways, in just a few quick weeks, I`m now excelling at both! I`m treat motivated and love to bring my toys with me when I lounge outside. I am much more confident when Marie is around but have done well with all the dogs I`ve met so far. We would love to get adopted together but know that`s asking a lot so as long as you have a dog in your home who can help me continue my confidence building, that will be ok.MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: Teenagers should be okay, but no young children given my sensitive nature.OTHER DOGS: Required, if you aren`t able to adopt me and Marie together, I am looking for a home with a confident, well-socialized dog in the home to help with my confidence.CATS: Potentially, with cat confident & experienced with large dogs.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, I’m sensitive and would do best with someone who has dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Yes, so I have a safe place to lounge outside, which is one of my favorite things to do!
