My story

Meet Oreo! 7 1/2 yrs Neutered/Male Merle Chihuahua A little guy, with great big BFF energy, Oreo is and active and fun adventure seeker who is looking for a family who wants to make memories good enough to savor! Oreo's life has been a rollercoaster, lacking security and stability, and he's had a lot of days best forgotten, but this little man knows what he likes, and is ready to move forward with his eye on the prize - a lite of love, cuddles and companionship he can rely on! This handsome and unique one-of-a-kind merle Chihuahua weighs in at 7.1 kgs, and while he can be a bit standoffish and nervous at first, he's just taking a moment to assess things, and he's happy to sit down and share some bridge-building snacks to get things moving in the right direction. A bit more nervous with men than women, Oreo is crate trained, walks well on his harness and leash, and is fully house-broken (though accidents should be anticipated during adjustment while he is learning the new place, people, routines and how to request a potty break) and he is a big lover of walkies and time spent outside where he can romp around in the grass or give a good chase to one of those pesky squirrels! A warm and affectionate boy once comfortable, Oreo loves to cuddle up on the couch with his people for a good book or tv time and man, is it ever a dream to get up on your bed pillow, or under the covers with you, for cozy and comfortable night time sleeps! Living well with cats in his foster home, Oreo mostly has only passing interest, but there is the occasional bratty chase just for really does live his very best life as the only dog in the house where there is no canine competition for attention, affection or the best toys and treats, so he really would love a Forever Home where he can be the only dog and sole soaker-upper of all the good things his life has lacked up until now. A very intelligent little dog, quick to pick up on what makes his people happy, Oreo is eager to please, motivated both by tasty snacks and lots of praise, he has a tremendous amount of love to offer! Oreo's ideal home will be with mature adults or family with kids in their teens, there will be a fully fenced backyard to roll, romp and race around in, and there will be plenty of time for the sniffiest of walks and loads of love and cuddles. Fully vetted and vaccinated, neutered and up to date on routine parasites and heartworm preventatives, Oreo is ready for adoption and is very eager to meet the family he will be able to share the rest of his life with! Adoption fees do apply. Please submit an adoption application today at http://priderescue.ca/

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Oreo, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
