My story

QUICK FACTS Name: Sura Age: Around 4 years old Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Corgi mix Color: Brown, White Weight: 13kg / 28.8lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was rescued from the euthanasia list at a crowded city pound, where my future became uncertain simply because there was no more space. I’m not sure how I ended up there all alone, but thankfully kind rescuers stepped in just in time and gave me a second chance at life. Now, I’m finally safe and hoping to leave those difficult memories behind as I search for a loving forever family who will cherish me and never let me feel alone again.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY I’m a super friendly boy who truly loves everyone I meet. I bond quickly with people, even strangers, and naturally enjoy being around humans and receiving attention and affection. I’m also a very smart boy who learns commands quickly — I already know how to sit and give paw! I carry many classic corgi characteristics, from my personality to my adorable looks, so if you’re a corgi lover, I may just be your perfect match. And don’t let my short legs fool you — I’m surprisingly athletic and agile! I can jump incredibly high and have even managed to jump over a 1-meter fence before. I’m a clever and capable little guy with lots of personality packed into a compact body.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I absolutely love people and happily soak up pets and affection from everyone I meet. Once I feel comfortable, I love showing my belly and leaning in for even more love and attention. I also allow myself to be picked up and handled easily. During my profile photoshoot, I charmed everyone by rolling over for belly rubs, pets, and attention the entire time. Being around people truly makes me happiest. · With Dogs: I get along well with the dogs at the care facility and really enjoy being around my dog friends. When I first see other dogs, I can get very excited and may try to run over to greet them right away, but I’m learning how to manage my excitement and become calmer during introductions. I generally tend to get along best with dogs of a similar size or smaller, and with continued guidance and structure, I continue improving my social manners every day. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown. A cat test can be arranged upon request to ensure the best fit. I like to chase small animals (e.g. squirrels & birds) during my walk so I will do best in a home with no small animals.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level. I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring, and having fun, but once I’ve had my activity and excitement, I’m more than happy to come inside and relax comfortably indoors.   TRAINING & HABITS I walk well on leash and follow my handler’s lead nicely during walks. I have excellent manners around food and don’t guard my meals from people or other dogs. I’m also a very quiet boy overall and rarely bark. I know how to rest calmly and quietly in my kennel when it’s time to settle down. I currently prefer doing my business outdoors with a consistent potty routine, and I’m also comfortable getting on and off the car by myself.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: • A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment • A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout • A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together • A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES Volunteers and staff sometimes joke that they should rename me “Gentleman” because I’m truly such a sweet little gentleman at heart. I’m friendly, affectionate, well-mannered, and always happy to be around people and soak up attention. I have a bubbly and cheerful personality that makes people smile easily, and I bond very well with humans. Whether it’s going on adventures outdoors or relaxing together at home, I’m happiest when I’m spending time with my people.
