My story

QUICK FACTS Name: Smile Age: 6 years old Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Jindo mix Color: White Weight: 21.2kg / 46lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was found wandering the streets alone, unsure of how I had ended up by myself with no place to go. Day by day, I roamed without the safety and comfort of a home until eventually I was captured and brought to the city pound. Sadly, because the shelter was overcrowded and running out of space, I was placed on the euthanasia list. My future became uncertain through no fault of my own. Thankfully, kind rescuers stepped in just in time and gave me a second chance at life. Now, I’m safe and hoping to finally find a loving forever family where I truly belong.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY I got my name because of my happy face and the way I always seem to be smiling. I absolutely love people and crave being close to my humans, especially cuddling up in your arms. I’m incredibly friendly and greet everyone I meet with excitement, always hoping for pets, affection, and attention. During my profile photoshoot, I was constantly leaning in for cuddles, soaking up all the love from the volunteers and staff, and happily rolling over to show my belly. Being around people truly makes me happiest.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I absolutely love people and greet everyone I meet like a long-lost friend. I’m incredibly affectionate and enjoy soaking up all the attention, pets, and cuddles I can get. I’m also comfortable being picked up and will happily show my belly as a sign of trust and love. · With Dogs: I can get a bit jealous when other dogs are receiving attention from people, so I would likely do best as the only dog in the home where I can soak up all the love for myself. That said, I could also do well with a family experienced in managing multiple dogs and setting healthy boundaries. I generally get along best with dogs of a similar size. I’m not afraid to stand up for myself if another dog is being too pushy or rude, so thoughtful and respectful introductions are important. Even so, I currently live well with other dogs at the care facility and am generally indifferent or friendly toward them overall. I simply like to advocate for my personal space and appreciate calm, respectful interactions. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown. A cat test can be arranged upon request to ensure the best fit.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level and enjoy a nice balance of activity and relaxation. More than anything, I love being by your side wherever you go, happily keeping you company throughout the day.   TRAINING & HABITS I love going on walks and exploring the world through my nose. I enjoy taking my time to sniff and take everything in, which makes walks with me calm and enjoyable. I can pull a little at the start when I’m excited, but I settle down quickly and follow my handler’s lead nicely overall. I’m still adjusting to car rides and will benefit from continued guidance and positive experiences so I can learn to feel more calm and relaxed while traveling. I have good manners around food with people, though I can be a bit sensitive if other dogs are nearby during mealtimes. I’m a very quiet boy overall and rarely bark. I’m also comfortable using both pee pads indoors and going potty outside. Most of all, I truly crave human companionship, and once I bond with my forever family, I’ll be deeply loyal and devoted to you for life.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: • A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment • A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout • A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together • A family that will love and cherish me forever • Ideally as the only dog in the home, where I can fully enjoy my space, bond closely with my people, and receive all the love and attention for myself   SPECIAL NOTES I guarantee my precious smile will brighten your day, and I have a feeling you’ll fall in love with me the moment we meet. I have a gentle, peaceful personality and a quiet charm that makes people naturally feel connected to me. I don’t have the biggest appetite and like to take my time eating my meals. I walk well on leash overall and truly enjoy being outdoors, exploring the world at my own pace. I would do especially well with an active family who enjoys outdoor adventures like walks and hikes, where we can experience nature together. I carry many classic Jindo characteristics. I’m respectful, calm, observant, and I value my personal space, especially around other dogs. As long as other dogs respect my boundaries too, I do very well in group settings and currently live peacefully with other dogs. Most of all, I love being petted and form deep, loyal bonds with my people. Once I trust you, I’ll become a devoted companion who will quietly stay by your side through everything.   SMILE'S YOUTUBE PLAYLIST   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2733476##
