My story

Are you looking for a loyal sidekick? Look no further - Diesel is your man! Diesel is estimated to be around a year and a half old, and he is a fun and social guy who is the life of the party. He loves to make new friends, particularly with the ladies, and is a happy guy who is ready for adventure. He would love an active family that he can tag along with for all things fun. Diesel is the perfect compact cutie, weighing in around 26lbs. Diesel was found as a stray and brought to a local animal shelter. While he had a microchip, no family came forward for him. We were more than happy to have him come to us, and he has been doing great in foster care! Diesel is the perfect mix of energy and chill. He loves his walks and running around, but he is also a big cuddle bug and will happily make himself comfy in your lap. He is a silly guy who brings happiness wherever he goes. He is a very outgoing guy who is quick to warm up to new people and enjoys being out and about. Diesel is also a very smart boy and picks up training quickly. He would be a great first dog for someone who wants an active dog past the crazy puppy phase. Diesel did well meeting other dogs at the shelter, but has been doing great as an only dog and wouldn't mind being your one and only. We haven't seen Diesel around cats, but he may do well living with dog-savvy cats after a slow introduction. Diesel could be a wonderful addition to a home with kids 10 years and older. Diesel is housetrained and has been doing great hanging out in his crate during the workday and overnight. He will whine for a little bit, but is quick to settle in and chill until his foster mom gets home. With proper daily exercise, Diesel has been doing well living in an apartment. Diesel is a fabulous guy who can't wait to be your new BFF. If he sounds like the companion for you, submit an application today!   Diesel's adoption fee is $300.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website  (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. May 19, 2026, 4:10 am

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Diesel, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
