My story

Our family adopted Poppy in 2019 from a shih tzu rescue in Dallas. Her estimated age is 8 years old. She has a calm, easygoing personality but still gets zoomies every now and then. She enjoys short walks, and is also happy to hang out next to you on the couch. She would do well keeping company to an elderly person, acting as a therapy dog to a child who needs extra comfort, or a companion to a single person in an apartment. She is crate trained. She has no health issues. A couple things to know about her: -She has been known to sneak food from counters and tables, but due to her stature a simple fix of keeping chairs pushed in keeps her in line. -She sometimes mistakes children's toys for dog toys, so it's best if toys are kept picked up or if she has dog-specific toys available We are committed to finding her the right home that will offer her love and stability. We are happy to answer any questions. Rehoming fee applies to ensure a committed home - includes her supplies.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Poppy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
