My story

Meet Steve (“Pudgy Steve”) 🐾 If you’re looking for a happy, loyal little shadow who just wants to be by your side—Steve is your guy. Steve is a ~6-year-old black pug weighing in around 28 lbs, with the cutest little gray chin that gives him that distinguished, “I’ve seen some things but I’m still here to love you” look. After wandering into a yard in Springerville and never being reclaimed, he’s now ready for a true forever home that won’t let him go again. What we love about Steve: Sweet, social, and truly a people dog Great with men, women, kids, seniors, and other dogs Potty trained and already knows how to be a good house guest Equal parts playful and chill—he’ll zoom when it’s time, then happily nap by your side Loves being involved in whatever you’re doing (yes, even if it’s nothing) Excellent travel buddy—he’ll snooze the whole ride Cuddle level: expert Steve is the kind of dog that bonds deeply. He’s always checking in, always nearby, always ready to hang out. If you’ve ever wanted a built-in best friend… this is him. A few things to know: Steve has some sensitivity around his paws and does not like them being handled—this means nail trims may require patience (or a vet plan that works best for him) Because of this, he’ll need a home with a yard and someone mindful about walking times (early morning/evening in the summer) He can have a bit of separation anxiety, so he’d do best in a home where someone is around more often than not The ideal home for Steve: A home that wants a constant companion. Someone who understands that love sometimes looks like a pug following you from room to room. A family who will respect his quirks, keep him comfortable, and give him the stability he deserves.
