My story

My foster writes: If you have a gentle hand and a quiet home and are not expecting a lap cat, Kody will be a wonderful companion. He's clever, has the eyes of an eagle and loves lounging. when he's not playing with his banana. Watching him gives me enormous pleasure.Meet Kody!Kody came to us with limited information about his life in a home, though we do know he previously lived with other cats. He is a quiet, shy, and independent boy who tends to observe the world carefully before deciding how he feels about it. In the shelter, he has appeared timid and skittish, often staying tucked inside his den. While he tolerates gentle petting, he may freeze or appear nervous during interactions, showing that he's still adjusting to the busy environment around him.My Ideal HomeKody would do best in a calm, adult-only home with experienced cat guardians who understand that he will need time and patience to settle in. A quiet environment with predictable routines will help him feel safe. He may be more independent in nature and will likely benefit from having safe hiding spaces and the freedom to approach people on his own terms. Giving him space, going slow, and allowing him to build trust gradually will be key to helping him blossom.Good with Kids?An adult-only home is recommended. Due to his timid and fearful behavior in the shelter, a quieter environment without children will help him feel more secure.Good with Other Pets?Kody previously lived with other cats, though we do not have details about those interactions. Slow, careful introductions to any resident pets would be recommended.Overall HealthHealthy overall at this time.Behavior DeterminationLevel 3 - Kody is a shy and fearful cat who requires an experienced, patient adopter and a calm home environment to support his adjustment period.Other Fun FactsThough he may be reserved at first, Kody is also curious and observant. With time and trust, this quiet boy has the potential to show his softer side and become a loyal, steady companion. Primary Color: Gray Tabby Weight: 11 Age: 9yrs 4mths 3wks
