For more info about the dog, or the adoption application, please click here.BackgroundDolang was found in a channel near the shelter after he fell in and could not get out. Thankfully, one of our volunteers saw him and brought him to safety. Since then, he has been living at the shelter.Although he is adorable and very loving, as a mixed breed dog he did not receive serious adoption inquiries in Korea. We have now decided to look for his forever home in Canada or the US, where he will have a better chance.Personality and SocializationDolang is a gentle and sweet boy. He may feel a little shy at first, but he warms up quickly. Once he feels safe, he loves belly rubs and quiet snuggle time with people. He becomes very affectionate and enjoys being close to his humans. He gets along well with other dogs and has an easygoing personality. He especially enjoys playing with gentle dogs around his size. If another dog is too pushy or dominant, he simply walks away. He has no experience with cats.BehavirousDolang is a smart and fairly independent dog. He enjoys attention and affection, but he is also calm and relaxed when left alone. He is not demanding and settles well on his own.He is trained to use indoor pee pads and also goes potty outside. He rides in the car without much trouble, though he can be nervous around loud noises, especially motorcycles. He enjoys his walks and has good leash manners. At the vet and grooming, he is calm and cooperative. He does not have excessive barking or destructive behaviors. So far, he has not shown any signs of separation anxiety.Health and dietDolang is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. He is on monthly parasite prevention. When he was rescued, he had a hernia, but it was successfully treated with surgery and has fully healed. He is now healthy and ready for his forever home. He eats kibble twice a day and has no known allergies.Ideal HomeDolang would do best in a home where people are around most of the time. While he has not shown signs of separation anxiety, he is happiest when he is close to his humans. He does not ask for much. He enjoys sitting by the window, relaxing quietly, going for walks, and getting fresh air. With a patient and loving family, Dolang will truly blossom. His name means “channel” in Korean, a quiet reminder of where his story began.** Note: currently, Dolang is in Korea, but upon adoption, he will arrive in Toronto. For more info about the dog, or the adoption application, please click here.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Dolang, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
