Name: Lucy Breed: German Shepherd mix Weight: 25 kg Gender: Female Spayed/neutered: Not yet spayed but will be Age: approx. 6 months Obtained From: A pet sanctuary in St. Lucia that did not have the means to provide her with the medical care she needed. She needed a leg amputation and an eye enucleation Reason for Intake: They brought her to Canada to receive medical treatment but did not plan to keep her. Up to Date with Vetting: Yes Good with dogs: Yes. She is living with 2 Golden Retrievers and 2 Chihuahua's. No issues. She has also appropriately greeted other dogs on leash walks. Good with cats: Yes. She is currently living with cats. Good with kids: Yes. She is living with children 4 years and up. She was also good with a visiting 9 month old. Good with strangers: Yes. The dogs are kept in the den when people arrive. Lucy will bark when someone comes to the door. Once let out she will go up and greet them and be very friendly. Resource guarding issues: Not from people/dogs/cats. Ever bitten a human: No Ever bitten a dog: No Fears: Housetrained: Still a work in progress. She will hold her pee and poop while crated but is still having pee accidents in the home. Crate trained: Yes. She is crated when they go out and overnight. Good in the car: Yes Bark when left alone: She did initially but is not now. She is used to being left alone with the other animals while they go out to run errands and up to 4 hours at a time. Destructive: She is crated when left alone. Energy Level: Medium Leash skills: She tends to walk in circles after her leg amputation. She is walked on the weekends for about 15 minutes at a time. She has not shown concern with people/dogs/vehicles on walks. She has greeted dogs on leash walks appropriately. OK with physical handling/manipulations: Yes. They have bathed her, brushed her, and trimmed her nails. She is cooperative at the vet. Known commands: None Food on now: Purina kibble. 3 cups/day. Purina wet food. 1 can/day. Behavioural issues: Still working on her housetraining. Medical issues: They brought Lucy to Canada to ensure that she received medical assistance.
