My story

Meet Shaggy – A Playful, Smart Pup Full of Love Quick Facts: Breed: Terrier Mix Age: 2 years Weight: 32 lbs House-Trained: In progress Crate-Trained: In progress Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Yes Good with Kids: Yes (best with older kids due to jumping) Energy Level: High Fence Required: Yes Special Traits: Very smart, food motivated, playful, strong chewer, loves attention Why You’ll Love Shaggy: Super sweet and affectionate Great with dogs, cats, and people Highly intelligent and trainable Loves to play and stay active Food motivated (great for training!) Fun, goofy personality with lots of love to give About the Breed: Terrier mixes are known for their intelligence, energy, and playful nature. They thrive in active homes where they can get plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and interaction with their people. Shaggy’s Story & Personality: Shaggy is a fun-loving, energetic boy who still has a lot of that puppy spirit! He’s incredibly sweet and loves attention—whether that’s pets, praise, or just being near his people. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and people, making him a very social companion. His play style is submissive, but he’s still very active and playful, so any dog sibling would need to match his energy level and enjoy a good play session. Shaggy has a high energy level and needs both physical exercise and mental stimulation to keep him happy and balanced. He loves to run, explore, and play, so a fenced yard is a must for him to safely burn off that energy. While he does fairly well on a leash, he will benefit from continued training and consistency. This smart boy is very food motivated and already knows how to sit for his meals. With his intelligence and eagerness, he has great potential to learn more commands, tricks, and routines. He thrives with structure and would do great with someone who enjoys training and engaging with their dog. Shaggy is also very much still in his chewing phase—he will chew on just about anything he can find if not redirected. He’s tall enough to reach counters and may try to sneak a snack or two, so supervision and management will be important while he continues to learn boundaries. Despite his busy, playful nature, Shaggy is incredibly loving and enjoys being doted on. He truly wants to be part of the family and will reward you with endless affection. Shaggy’s Ideal Home: Active household ready for a high-energy dog Fenced yard for running and play Someone committed to continued training and structure Older kids or adults (due to jumping and excitement) Another playful dog with similar energy is a big plus A home that can provide supervision and redirection during his chewing phase Ready to Welcome This Fun-Loving Pup into Your Life? Shaggy is a smart, affectionate, and energetic companion who is ready to grow and thrive with the right family. If you’re looking for a playful, loving dog who will keep you active and entertained, Shaggy might just be your perfect match. Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. To ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/.
