My story

Pepita was originally adopted from Tri County Humane Society. She really enjoys lap time and snuggles, but she likes to pretend she doesn't. She particularly loves front leg stretches and neck scritches. She did well in our home for the first couple of years and got along with the other cat we had at the time. However, we started running into problems when we adopted some cats younger than her. She started exhibiting signs of stress, and has not adjusted to their presence after a year. This constant stress has made her very anxious and skittish, which is leading to behavior issues. She also strongly dislikes using a litterbox with other cats. We have given her a private litterbox which has helped, but I think a reduction in stress is likely to be more effective. At the end of the day, I love Pepita, but I think she would be much happier and more trusting in a home without other cats.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Pepita, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
