My story

Chase is a very sweet and smart, 9-yr old German Shepherd I adopted from the local Humane Society in April. He was surrendered by his previous owners due to housing and spent most of his life outside. He understands commands and walks very well on or off leash. His favorite activity is playing fetch with a tennis ball and he still has a lot of energy left in him for a senior! Like many of his breed, he has a lot of anxiety. Medication and routine exercise really help, but mostly he needs outdoor access during the day, especially while left alone because he does not like confined spaces or being separated from his people without the ability to run around. He is mostly house trained, and has been doing well with commands in the new space. He needs a lot of time and attention, plus behavioral training to work on small issues like aggression with strangers if approached while alone. However, almost always while accompanied he’s extremely calm. He just needs a loving home and a nice yard!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Chase, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
