My story

*Note: Dolbi arrives in Toronto on April 17.For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please click this link.BackgroundIn the summer of 2024, Dolbi was rescued from the streets. After her rescue, she spent over a year in a local shelter, waiting patiently for a family to call her own but as a mixed breed in Korea, she was often overlooked. Earlier this year, Dolbi joined our partner boarding facility to begin preparing for overseas adoption. It is a bittersweet reality that a dog as smart, affectionate, and loving as Dolbi has to travel halfway around the world to find her forever home, but sadly, that is the reality for many dogs in Korea. We are determined to find her the family she has always deserved.Personality & SocializationDolbi has a lovely, gentle nature. She is calm, social, and never demanding. She gets along very well with other dogs, especially those who are friendly and respectful. If another dog is too pushy, Dolbi simply chooses to walk away. With people, she may be a little shy at first, but she warms up quickly and shows her sweet and gentle side. New places can make her a bit unsure in the beginning, but with a little time and patience, she settles in nicely. For a dog who has been through so much, the way she learns to trust and connect is really special.BehaviourDolbi is a smart and quick learner who settles into new routines easily. She can be a little nervous at first, but she handles car rides well. Vet visits, baths, and grooming are all manageable for her. She may not enjoy them, but she patiently allows her people to take care of her.She walks nicely on leash and truly enjoys her daily walks. New environments can make her a bit unsure at first, but once she feels familiar and is with someone she trusts, she does very well. Dolbi is quiet and relaxed when left alone and has shown no signs of separation anxiety.Health & DietWhen Dolbi was first rescued, she tested positive for anaplasmosis. She went through treatment and has fully recovered. She is now healthy and ready for her forever home. Dolbi is spayed, fully vaccinated, dewormed, and up to date on monthly parasite prevention. She eats dry kibble twice a day and has no known food allergies.Ideal HomeDolbi would fit beautifully into many kinds of homes. What she needs most is a family who will keep her close and give her the time and patience to feel safe. As she settles in, she will quietly grow into the heart of the home. She is very smart, gentle, and deeply affectionate, forming strong bonds with her people. Dolbi can be happy as the only dog, but she may enjoy having another dog by her side even more. Anyone who welcomes Dolbi into their life will be truly lucky to have such a loyal and loving companion.*Note: Dolbi arrives in Toronto on April 17.For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please click this link.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Dolbi, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
