My story

Meet Winston! Winston is a true little survivor with a big personality. He came to us from a high-kill shelter at just 4 months old, severely underweight and struggling to survive. We soon discovered the cause—a large polyp behind his soft palate that made it nearly impossible for him to eat or even breathe properly. After life-saving surgery, Winston finally got his chance to thrive—and he took it! Once he could eat, he devoured food and quickly transformed into a healthy, energetic, and stunning kitten. Winston has many traits of a Turkish Van—he’s intelligent, active, and a bit independent. He’s not a fan of being held, but he does enjoy pets and affection on his own terms. He’s playful, curious, and always on the move. He absolutely loves other cats and would do best in a home with a feline companion. With patience, he could also adjust to a calm dog. Winston is confident and expressive—if something annoys him, he’ll let you know—so he’s best suited for a home with older children who understand cat boundaries. Winston has only known a shelter and his foster home, so he’ll need time to adjust in a new environment. With patience and understanding, he’ll reward you with endless entertainment and a one-of-a-kind personality. Breed: Turkish Van mix (best guess) Good with cats: Yes — loves them! Good with dogs: Likely, with slow introduction Good with kids: Older, respectful kids only Winston is ready for a fresh start—could it be with you?

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Winston, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
